Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM)
At Allab, we are dedicated to providing top-notch asbestos testing services, leveraging the power of advanced technology like the Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). Our microscope of choice is the Hitachi H-600, a high-performance instrument that allows us to deliver accurate and reliable results.
Transmission Electron Microscope at Allab
The Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) is a powerful tool that enables us to identify asbestos fibers in air and bulk samples. Capable of analyzing samples at high magnification (20,000X and higher), the TEM identifies asbestos fibers based on morphology, crystalline structure, and elemental analysis.
Our TEM: The Hitachi H-600
Our laboratory is equipped with the Hitachi H-600, a state-of-the-art TEM that allows us to achieve magnifications in excess of 200,000X. This microscope is equipped with an Energy Dispersive X-ray analyzer (EDAX), which we use to obtain information on the chemical composition of samples. It is also capable of performing Selected Area Electron Diffraction (SAED) analysis, providing information on the crystalline structure of particles.
Our Accreditation and Certification
Allab is proud to be accredited by the Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP). Our qualifications can be found on the qualifications page of our website.
Asbestos Testing at Allab
We employ a variety of methods to test for asbestos, including NY ELAP Method 198.4 (TEM with Gravimetric Prep), TEM ASTM D-6480 (Wipe), TEM NIOSH 7402. These methods allow us to analyze airborne fibers, determine asbestos fiber concentration, and provide detailed information on the types of "asbestos structures" found in samples.
You can find the full list of TEM methods used by Allab at the bottom of this page.
Our Commitment
At Allab, we are committed to delivering reliable and accurate asbestos testing services. Our use of the TEM, particularly the Hitachi H-600, allows us to provide our clients with detailed and precise results. We continue to uphold our ELAP accreditation and certification, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
